Minas | Games, Nintendo Wii, nintendo DS | Friday, 04 July 2008

Mushroom ManRed Fly Studio will bring us an interesting action-adventure game called Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars in October. Targeted platforms are only the Nintendo Wii and DS.

The game starts with a mysterious asteroid hitting earth and affecting all living creatures and some plant life, especially mushrooms. As a result, four types of mushrooms emerge — two are bad guys and other two are good. Playing as a warrior mushroom, the player will face challenges from all types of other mushrooms. Each has its own weapons, fighting skills and even clothes.

Here’s what SpawnPoint reports.

In addition to the Mushroom Men, several other plants and animals have been affected similarly by the comet. While initially neutral and independent, they eventually team up with one side or the other.

GoNintendo reports more details.

The Wii version of the game picks up where the DS leaves off. The Spore Wars rage fully across the miniature landscape. The societies have advanced to a point where theology and metaphysical pursuits have developed.

Igor Comes To Nintendo Wii

Minas | Games, Nintendo Wii, nintendo DS | Friday, 04 July 2008

IgorMany games coming out this year such as Iron Man and Wall-E are based on movies. Another one is Igor which will be released for PC, Wii and DS. Following the storyline of the film, the game revolves around an evil scientist whose dream is to rise to the top of the city.

The Nintendo Wii version will allow players to choose from one of four characters who can explore the city and fight enemies before reaching the final target — the Evil Science Fair. Igor is being developed by the Legacy Interactive and Gamasutra reports what the company’s president, Ariella Lehrer, says about the game.

With Igor, we set forth to capture the unique mix of dark, yet playful aspects seen in the movie. It’s a great game that can be enjoyed with both friends and family and will appeal to a younger audience as well.

GameZone reports some details about the DS version.

The Nintendo DS version utilizes the stylus to perform movement combinations, combat enemies and solve puzzles. Players can custom build their own monsters to take on puzzle challenges and battle against other mad scientists.

Lost in Blue Coming To Nintendo Wii

Minas | Games, Nintendo Wii, nintendo DS | Thursday, 22 May 2008

Lost in Blue WiiLost in blue is a survival-adventure initially developed and finding success on the DS. Owners of the DS had the opportunity to play Lost in Blue 1 and 2 and now the third version is in development by Konami.

Nintendo have also decided to bring this popular adventure to the Wii. Hopefully, it should be available by the end of Summer.

The games plot revolves around a a shipwreck and being stranded on a desert island. The main task is to survive and to find a way back to home. Accompanied by a girl, man and dog, cooperative play will help you accomplish your various goals.

Wii News reports what to expect from on the graphics front.

Unfortunately, we’re not sold on the screenshots. The backgrounds make the island look like the survivors have washed up in Hyrule circa Ocarina of Time and one of the characters looks he was based on a plasticine model of Gordon Ramsey. Hopefully, as with all Wii games, it will look a lot better in motion.

Nintendo Wii Fanboy thinks that the Wii version will be even better than DS version.

While the DS is a great system for adventure games, the Wiimote might make the minigame portions of the title more fun and less tedious. Furthermore, we’ve already seen that point-and-click works well on the Wii, so Lost in Blue has the potential to become a welcome addition on the little white console.

Speed Racer On Nintendo Wii

Minas | Games, Nintendo Wii, nintendo DS | Monday, 05 May 2008

Speed RacerOn May 9th an anticipated racing movie called Speed Racer directed by the Wachowski brothers will hit movie theaters. Three days before the movie release, a video game based on the film will be released for Nintendo Wii and DS owners, but only in the U.S. Europe will have to wait until October 31st.

Speed Racer gives you the opportunity to feel the adrenalin while driving the fastest cars. One thing that sets the game apart from others are the tracks. Players will be able to create their own. Moreover, Speed Racer won’t be just another racing game, but the developers have also thought of a good storyline.

During the game, players will be given different options to choose from and based on those choices, will enter particular adventures. QJ.NET reports more details.

Strangely enough, the cars in this game have a tendency to be in mid-air almost as much as they’re on ground, but it’s nice to see that the frenetic feeling of speed hasn’t lessened one bit.

From the trailer it’s obvious that Speed Racer should get the adrenalin going as the tracks are really designed well. Sometimes you might feel that you want to pause the game before continuing. That means the game feels realistic and gives you the same kind of feeling that an actual driver might experience.
