SEGAFor everyone out there who hs already finished playing the new Super Smash Mario Bros. and is wondering how long they’ll have to wait before they can experience something like it again, SEGA has an announcement for you. As the title suggests, Sonic Unleashed will not only be released on PS3, Xbox360, and PS2, but also on Wii as well.

And there’s not long to wait either. Sonic Unleashes should be available later this year and Sega promises much. First of all, Sonic Unleashed uses the new “Hedgehog Engine” which according to Handheld Wii brings rich graphics.

Under development for three years, the Hedgehog Engine produces a visually rich next generation look and feel with elements of classic Sonic gameplay mechanics.

Of course, Wii owners can’t expect the graphics to be identical to those on the PS3 or Xbox360, but it will probably look good enough. Another aspect of the game is that it includes some innovative elements in the gameplay. SEGA has kept all the super abilities of Sonic that we know and love, plus added new combat movements which combined with Sonic’s extra speed makes it different thank its predecessors.

One thing that didn’t see in the previous versions is that new Sonic game will have day and night and as The Tanooki reports at night you’ll experience a new kind of adventure.

As the sun sets in Sonic Unleashed, a different type of adventure will awaken in Sonic’s newest quest….
