New Nintendo Mii Channel
Nintendo has officially announced the Check Mii Out Channel. Miis are fun 3D caricature portraits of your friends and family that are simple and easy to create.
Once created, you can watch your Mii come to life in certain Nintendo Wii games. In addition to storing Miis on the Nintendo Wii
, up to ten Miis can be stored in your Wii Remote and taken to a friend’s house to play on another Wii console.
The channel consists of two different areas, the Posting Plaza and the contest section. The posting Plaza acts as a sort of Mii marketplace, where users can upload their Miis and browse other people’s creations by region.
The Wii Blog reports that Nintendo has also started a contest that challenges users to submit Mii creations to represent a specific person, character or theme. Users can then vote on each Mii submitted by others to determine which one best fits the challenge. Each contest will last two weeks. The first will be for creating and submitting the Mii, and the second will be for voting.
Nintendo keeps us surprised by offering new channels, games, and contests. I liked the idea of storing Mii’s in in remote control. It’s always fun to keep Mii with you.
